We visited Cafe Samarkand and absolutely loved it! The food tastes homemade — rich, flavorful, and made with care. The plov and samsa were especially delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and clean, and the staff treat you like family — very friendly and kind. You can feel the hospitality the moment you walk in. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

I don’t know a lot about Uzbek food, but I know about good food, and they have GOOD FOOD. We ordered the plov and manti dumplings with green tea, and we got the honey cake and napoleon for dessert. Everything was delicious, but the dessert really stole the show! I was blown away by them both, and even my sweets-are-okay partner loved them. The portions are very generous, so I took home leftovers and will get a couple lunches out of them. The service was great, and the owner was so sweet, taking time to talk to us and express his gratitude for our patronage. I will definitely be returning and telling others!

Cafe Samarkand is a delightful addition to Pittsburgh’s culinary landscape. We ate there about 3 months after it opened and were planning our return. The Uygur Lagman was a major highlight with house made noodles and good spices, and the Chuponcha lamb chops were decadent. Very reasonably priced and also includes some classic Soviet dishes in addition to Uzbek menu. Highly recommended!
